Staff from MSX pulled on their walking boots and took on the Test Way earlier this month, to fundraise for a head and neck cancer charity.
The 10-strong team walked various sections of the 25.5 mile Walk the Test Way route to raise money for Oracle Cancer Trust.
Team MSX 2015 members, Paul, Martin and Ann, took on an 11-mile challenge, along with managing director, Nicola Ridges-Jones. Peter and Gail walked an eight-mile route and business development administrator, Gemma Rice, who was joined by her husband and two-and-a-half-year-old son, Seb, walked five miles for the cause.
The team has raised over £1,800 for the charity through its JustGiving page. The charity is a cause close to Nicola’s heart, having lost her father to throat cancer in 2004.
She said: “There are lots of other types of cancers that are talked about a lot but head and neck cancers often tend to get less awareness raising in the press and, sadly, less funding for research.
“I hope the money we raise for Oracle will go some way to helping other people in my father’s situation and ultimately find a cure for this disease. I would like to say a big thank you and well done to everyone that took part, especially to our youngest walker Seb who showed us how it’s done!”
